Headliners The Souliz Band with Sugar & Spice
plus the Julie Black Band, the Patty Sanphy Band, DeLaran & Elysian Sex Drive, and Geri X

Now in its second year, the Gulfport Peace, Love & Women Music Festival on September 17, 2017 will be a spectacular showcase of critically acclaimed women performers with rebellious original rock-and-roll sounds to award-winning get-on-your-feet-and-dance R & B. Five of Tampa Bay’s favorite women performers and women-fronted bands will take the stage at the Historic Gulfport Casino starting at 4 pm.

Festival headliner The Souliz Band, fronted by local legends Sugar and Spice, earned a place in the winner’s circle at the 2017 International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Souliz delivers a tight, high energy set of R&B, Southern Soul, Blues, and Classic Rock-n-Roll. Also on the lineup will be indie rock singer-songwriter Geri X, funkalicious rock-and-roller DeLaran with Elysian Sex Drive, plus classic blues and jazz from The Patty Sanphy Band, and the complex and inspiring blues of the Julie Black Band.

“These artists were selected to bring some of Tampa Bay’s best women performers into the limelight,” said Festival Producer Lynn DiVenuti of Business Brainstormers.

Kicking off the show will be two winners from the ProSuzy “Let Your Light Shine” open mic series that takes place monthly at the Flamingo Resort in south St Petersburg. Winners will be selected by audience ballots at the Open Mic series finale on Wednesday, August 9, starting at 7 pm. Audience members will receive one ballot each and will score each performer from 1-5 points. The two performers with the highest average scores will get one of two opening spots at the Festival.

Festival tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Order tickets online now.

Rain or shine, the Festival will go on in the air conditioned comfort of the newly renovated Historic Gulfport Casino, that offers a full bar, plenty of room for dancing, and great acoustics. There’s ample free parking, a free trolley from remote parking areas, and lots of nearby restaurants for a late lunch before the show.

10% of this year’s net Festival proceeds will support The Blueberry Patch
