PRETTY MAIDS singer Ronnie Atkins has lung cancer. Get well soon, Ronnie!
As the PRETTY MAIDS announced in an official social media statement, frontman Ronnie Atkins was surprisingly diagnosed with lung cancer. The singer's open letter to the public reads as follows: "It's scary how your world can be completely turned upside down in just a few weeks." I went to my doctor for a routine check-up that I read about in the middle of August I went through various scans, bronchoscopy, biopsies, etc., and spent a lot of time waiting for answers in uncertainty, and finally, I was diagnosed with lung cancer three weeks ago, which was a shock to me in every way , my family and all those who are close to me, after it came completely unexpected and without any typical symptoms and lately everything has just happened so fast and has developed so fast. I am already under treatment and underwent surgery two weeks ago , after which I spent ten days with pneumonia in the hospital, as one apparently with the operation in Connecting sequence. According to the medical staff, my outlook looks good, considering it's lung cancer. Anyway, I'll have to undergo more treatments in the coming months to play it safe. This means that I unfortunately have to withdraw from most musical activities, concerts, etc. for an indefinite period of time. I will face that with positive thoughts and the continual love and support of my family and friends. I'm determined to fight this disease as best I can – God willing! In Love, Ronnie AtkinsThe PRETTY MAIDS announce that all announced shows had to be canceled by the end of January 2020.Good Mend, Ronnie!
